FAQ

Frequently asked.

  • Should we register a public organisation or a charity?

A public organisation is often suitable for a member-led civic mission; a charitable organisation may better suit fundraising and aid programmes. We assess your founders, funding and governance before recommending a form.

  • Can a foreigner found an NGO in Ukraine?

A foreign founder can register a Ukrainian public organisation through the relevant registration authority. The route and required foreign documents depend on the chosen legal form and founders.

  • Can the organisation invite foreign volunteers?

Potentially. To support a volunteer visa and temporary residence application, an eligible nonprofit host must be included on the National Social Service list of organisations involving foreign volunteers. We can coordinate the listing and the volunteer's separate immigration application; registration of the nonprofit alone is not a residence permit.

  • Is registration the same as nonprofit tax status?

No. Nonprofit status is a separate tax-register decision. Depending on the filing route, the request can be made alongside incorporation or afterward. We prepare the governing documents with those requirements in mind.

  • Can an existing international NGO open a representative office in Ukraine?

Yes. We can help an eligible foreign NGO or charity prepare the documents and apply to accredit a new Ukrainian representative office. This is a separate route from registering a new Ukrainian nonprofit. We confirm the requirements after reviewing the parent organisation and its plans.

  • Can you support an office after it opens?

Potentially. After reviewing the organisation's operations and ongoing needs, we can agree an in-house support scope or coordinate suitable partner firms. Our real-estate team can also help source housing for staff and office premises in Lviv.
