FAQ

Frequently asked.

  • Is Foreign Ukrainian status the same as Ukrainian citizenship?

No. It recognises a qualifying connection to Ukraine but does not grant Ukrainian citizenship or replace your passport.

  • Does the certificate let me live in Ukraine permanently?

The certificate alone is not a residence permit. Foreign Ukrainian status can provide a simplified, non-quota route to an immigration permit. Permanent residence remains a separate procedure, and the applicant must complete the immigration-permit and permanent-residence applications.

  • How long is the Foreign Ukrainian certificate valid?

The certificate is issued for 10 years and can be re-registered under the applicable procedure.
