Opening an LLC in Ukraine — a founder's quick start
What it really takes to register a Ukrainian LLC as a foreigner: choices, documents, banks and the timeline you should plan around.

Foreigners can own 100% of a Ukrainian LLC (TOV). The vehicle is mature, foreign-friendly and well understood by banks — which makes it the right answer for almost every founder hiring locally or holding assets here.
Three early decisions
- Single-member or multi-member: a single foreign founder is fine; partnerships need a clean shareholder agreement
- Tax regime: the simplified 'single-tax' regime can be powerful, but only inside specific revenue and activity limits
- Director: a foreign director is permitted, but the practical experience is smoother with a local director on day one
Banks: assume two to four weeks
Bank account opening is the slowest step. Compliance reviews can take two to four weeks even with clean KYC, and they are slower for sectors flagged as higher risk. Pre-package your KYC pack before you walk in.
